Heisei Mincho Stdn W3 is a foreign font released by Adobe.

Heisei Mincho was among the first typeface families established by a group of type foundries formed by the Japanese Standards Association (JSA). In 1988, a font development task was begun by the Typeface Advancement and Promo Center (FDPC), which was formed as an affiliate of the JSA. A type design competitors was held for mincho typefaces, and a style proposed by Ryobi Imagix Co. was picked. Heisei Mincho is a modern mincho, or serif, style with reasonably bigger counter-spaces and simplified strokes made up of numerous straight lines. For much better recreation on low-resolution output gadgets, its horizontal stroke width is set much heavier than other basic mincho typefaces. Lighter weights of Heisei Mincho, such as W3, are suitable for printing books and office documents. Four weights, W3 through W9 in odd-numbered increments, are readily available. All weights of the "Sexually transmitted disease" versions support the JIS X 0208 requirement. Just W3 covers all of Adobe-Japan1-3, and the remaining 3 weights, W5 through W9, cover an Adobe-Japan1-1 subset of Adobe-Japan1-3. One weight, W3, is also readily available as a "StdN" variation that includes over 8,000 extra glyphs, supports the JIS X 0212 and JIS X 0213 standards in their whole, and is JIS2004-savvy.
