HWT Borders One was designed by Richard Kegler and published by Hamilton Wood Type Foundry. HWT Borders One contains 1 design. p > Wood Type Brochures of the 19th century often offered tools and devices alongside alphabets of wood type. Most likely the most closely associated was wood type borders and accessories. Decorative Borders were often offered by the foot and accompanied by corner pieces that matched the designs. These borders might be put together in nearly any size dimensions as needed. The digital version uses the same principals of modular assembly to develop the specific size border that is needed.

Along with the borders, included in this font style are a selection of 'banners'. These banners would have been made to order with the font designs reversed out along a horizontal banner with decorative end caps. The digital variation permits a modular assembly by choosing option of end caps and then typing the = as many times as required to attain the desired length. 10 styles of 9 piece borders can be created in any size variations in addition to 8 designs of streamers in any preferred length. A few of the styles can be blended and matched for unusual contemporary style analyses of these historical designs. It is suggested that the line height (leading) is set to the very same size as the point size setting, this will aesthetically lock all aspects together.
