Designed by Richard Kegler, HWT Borders One is a dingbat font style published by P22 Type Foundry.

Wood Type Brochures of the 19th century typically provided tools and accessories alongside alphabets of wood type. Probably the most carefully associated was wood type borders and ornaments. Decorative Borders were typically sold by the foot and accompanied by corner pieces that matched the styles. These borders could be assembled in practically any size measurements as needed. The digital version utilizes the same principals of modular assembly to develop the specific size border that is needed.

Along with the borders, included in this font style are a selection of "streamers". These banners would have been made to order with the font designs reversed out along a horizontal banner with decorative end caps. The digital version permits a modular assembly by selecting option of end caps and after that typing the = as sometimes as needed to achieve the wanted length. 10 designs of 9 piece borders can be produced in any size variations as well as 8 designs of streamers in any preferred length. A few of the styles can be mixed and matched for uncommon modern design interpretations of these historical styles. It is suggested that the line height (leading) is set to the same size as the point size setting, this will visually lock all components together
