This was significant in that this was the one format for which Carter had not yet created type. The new style became a two-part chromatic type to be cut specifically in wood. Originally called Carter Latin, the font style was renamed Van Lanen after among the Museum's creators. The first cutting and printing of the type happened in late 2009 and although it has actually been offered through the Museum, contemporary wood-type production is pricey and couple of have actually acquired this font in wood.
The digital variation of the set of Van Lanen typefaces is now readily available.
