The typeface was developed by Gennady Baryshnikov. Strong Italic is based upon Flash typeface, 1939, by Edwin W. Sharr. Additional styles were developed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1992 by Vladimir Yefimov and Alexander Tarbeev. Influenced by non-joining brush calligraphy. For usage in advertising and display screen typography.
