Irena is a cubist/expressionist font motivated by Vojtěch Preissig. Preissig (1873-1944) was a Czech typographer, printmaker, illustrator and teacher, whose work was affected by Japanese Art and Significance. During WWII, Preissig supported the Czech resistance and he was jailed in 1940. He died on June 11th in Dachau prisoner-of-war camp. This typeface was named after his daughter Irena Bernášková.
Irena font style is angular and square( ish), yet simple to read. It includes extensive language support.
