Jabana - a font style for menu cards and more. It was established in 2013 by Nils Thomsen to be his very first release at MyFonts. Inspired by having a beer at Hamburgs coffee bars.

Super compressed letter shapes, smooth handwritten marker curves and specifically a vast array of opentype features specify the large character set of Jabana. Jabana is made up of just uppercase letter shapes. Each letter and punctuation have 3 basic varieties of alternates. This gives a great looking handwritten nature to the font style. They will be arbitrarily selected by the contextual alternates feature or perhaps by hand via stylistic set (ss01, ss02).

The entire characters for serious western european typography includes Jabana. Beside the basic accented letters, portions, mathematical glyphs, superiors and inferiors you will discover alternates, additional bullets, various arrows, negative figures and roman numerals.

Another reason for the amount of 1450 glyphs are the numerator and denominator letters which came from A-Z, punctuation and the additional bullets (ss09-16). They are suggested to be utilized for decor or difference. Especially an opentype stylistic set can provide an extra touch to it while putting a dot/line above denominators or beneath numerators (ss03+ numr/dnom).
