Jazmo is an offspring of a project I provided for a Dutch architect. A timeless building and coincidently the location of my studio in my hometown Zwolle, Netherlands, required to be renovated. My job was to create your house numbers and signs for this building. This structure I refer to was integrated in 1932 and designed according to the 'New objectivity' architecture. Now it accommodates numerous artist and craftsmen and also homes trainees. In my design I used aspects of the Art Nouveau, which is associated to the 'New Objectivity'. Words as magnificent, angular, linear, elegant, artistic, spirited and frolic entered your mind. It needs to be a style with a hint of the past and a flirt with the future. This home numbering is the root wherefrom
Jazmo occurs. The name
Jazmo cites to allure scene, which was a new and incredibly popular artistic influence that time and age and is still a dynamic source of musical renewal. Mo means my Name Marit Otto. Together with my intern Arie Blok I developed the missing out on characters and finished the typeface. Welcome
Jazmo!
