JLS Data Gothic was designed by James Stirling and released by Fontry West. JLS Data Gothic includes 4 designs and household bundle alternatives. p > Everybody remembers their first. JLS Space was my very first. It was the first computer format typeface that I developed. The typeface was motivated by the sci-fi film posters, book covers and comics of my childhood. The very first crude letterforms were conjured in an all-night marathon session with no sketches and no planning. A basic character set, it consisted of upper case, lower case, numbers and fundamental punctuation. But, the job was little bit more than a fascinating exercise, and JLS Space faded into digital limbo. This regrettable typeface was neglected and lost for fifteen years. Mike Adkins, my co-conspirator, found and rescued the typeface file from the depths of a failing hard disk drive. He sent out the file to me as a curiosity - a glance back at our simple starts. I began puttering around with it on an impulse. Without really trying, Data Gothic began to form. The fascinating letter types in Information and Area Gothic struck home, and I was influenced to complete the task nearly twenty years after it was started.

JLS Space Gothic was inspired by the OCR and MICR fonts of the science fiction genre. Today, its character will enhance terms like Computer system Diagnostic or Area Age Polymer. Posters, titles and displays will boldly blast off into the marketplace place with these cybernetic letterforms. If Space Gothic is retro and appears limited in its genre, Data Gothic is modern with a broad spectrum of usages. This futuristic gothic does not sacrifice legibility for style. As a screen typeface, JLS Data Gothic is outstanding for technical specs, on screen discussion, labeling, and so on. In print, Data Gothic is a terrific font for text in manuals, schematics, maps and diagrams.

To honor Sputnik, Guy's very first voyager into area, Space Gothic and Data Gothic include Cyrillic.
