Journal Hand was influenced by a 45-year-old travel diary I purchased an estate sale. The thoroughly built all-uppercase letters showed that this traveler cared about style and legibility. Each picture, postcard and sales brochure that was glued into the journal had a neatly written caption and I admired the care this day tripper required to tape his European trek. While the pages are now yellowed and breaking down, the handwriting is still clear and stylish. Due to the fact that his handwriting totally fits today's usages, I re-created it in modern-day journalistic style that looks like it was composed with a technical pen.
