Kazuraki SP2N is a serif font published by Adobe.

Created by Ryoko Nishizuka, an Adobe ® Senior Type Designer, Kazuraki is a proportional Japanese kana typeface that consists of a limited number of glyphs that represent ideograph (kanji) characters. Kazuraki is based upon Ryoko's earlier work that won the Silver Reward award at Morisawa's 7th International Typeface Design Competitors in 2002. She further developed the design based upon the calligraphic design of the 12th Century writing master Fujiwara-no Teika (1162-1241), and transformed it into a digital font.

Typical Japanese typefaces are monospaced, particularly referring to the glyphs for their kana and kanji. Their glyphs are created to fit within an unnoticeable box understood as the Em Square. Technical difficulties in traditional Japanese type style have prevented the design of real Japanese calligraphic glyphs with complimentary kinds, especially those for kana.

But, Kazuraki is a real proportional Japanese typeface, in which each glyph has its own optimized width for horizontal and vertical writing directions. The OpenType font format permits ligatures to be included that supply efficient visual flows for some character series. This provides a totally new type of visual dynamic. Kazuraki represents an epoch-making difficulty in Japanese typography, which is launched as a brand-new Adobe Originals Japanese typeface, after Ryoko's long look for a new kind of digital typography in which the traditional style of Japanese kana calligraphy might be revived.
