Konrad Kachelofen was a printer in the city of Leipzig starting around 1483. He printed lots of works by modern authors and also numerous of the classics. He acquired an unusually big amount of typefaces for his store, a place that included a white wine bar and book shop. This type face is based on Typ.11:340 G GfT510 Gesamtkatalog der Wiegendrucke and resembles Proportional Lime's "Kachelofen" font. The significant differences are that the entire little set is slimmer and the majuscule set has different design glyphs and this face was utilized exclusively for titles and section headings due to the fact that of its sharper and clearer look at big point values.
Konrad probably died in 1529 after passing his organization on to his son-in-law Melchior Lotter, who also went on to fame as an industrious and renowned printer.
