Lamar Pen is a historical and script typeface released by 3 Islands Press.

Bold and adventurous but with a hint of culture, Lamar Pen reflects the personality of the guy whose handwriting motivated it. Mirabeau B. Lamar was a poet, orator, tourist, military guy, and a renowned Texan of the 1830s and '40s. Although I'm not a fan of his politics-- as second president of Texas, he made it a priority to expel or get rid of the republic's Native American people, angering first President Sam Houston, a true friend of the locals-- the typeface designed after his elegant hand may well be my favorite of my vintage penmanship collection. (Source material included Lamar's travel journals from 1835, thanks to Rice University.) OpenType features include many ligatures, standard and contextual alternates, lining and old-style figures, and total Central/Eastern European alphabets.
