Lancelot ProPublisher: Canada Type
Lancelot Pro is a historic font household. This typeface has two designs and was released by Canada Type.

When type historians review Jim Rimmer, they will consider him the last type designer who simply could not let go of metal type, despite the fact that he was just as proficient in digital type. Lancelot is one guaranteed case in point: A face developed and produced in digital as late in the game as 1999, just to spring onto the brand-new millenium a number of years later on as a metal type cast in 3 sizes. That was Jim, a time tourist continuously advising the craft of its origins.

This specific time machine was initially created as an easy set of attractive caps that highlight the appeal of the variable standard dialogue in between the drawing tool and the intended last form, and the one exchanged within the totality of the forms themselves. Jim designed 2 weights, with contrast and counterspace being the main distinction between them.

In 2013, the Lancelot family was remastered and considerably expanded. Lancelot Pro is now a wonder of over 840 glyphs per font style, consisting of smaller sized versions of the caps in the tiny slots, and alternates and ligatures that can transform the historical spirit of the initial design into anything from half-uncial to outright gothic. Language support exceeds the extended Latin stuff, to cover Cyrillic and Greek as well.
