Lancelot ProDesigner: Jim Rimmer
Publisher: Canada Type
Lancelot Pro was created by Jim Rimmer and published by Canada Type. Lancelot Pro consists of 2 styles and family package choices. p > When type historians look back on Jim Rimmer, they will consider him the last type designer who simply could not release metal type, despite the fact that he was just as competent in digital type. Lancelot is one certain case in point: A face designed and produced in digital as late in the game as 1999, just to spring onto the new millenium a couple of years later as a metal type cast in 3 sizes. That was Jim, a time tourist constantly reminding the craft of its origins.

This specific time maker was originally developed as a simple set of attractive caps that emphasize the charm of the variable conventional discussion between the drawing tool and the desired last form, and the one exchanged within the totality of the kinds themselves. Jim created two weights, with contrast and counterspace being the primary distinction between them.

In 2013, the Lancelot household was remastered and significantly broadened. Lancelot Pro is now a wonder of over 840 glyphs per font, including smaller versions of the caps in the small slots, and alternates and ligatures that can transform the historical spirit of the original style into anything from half-uncial to outright gothic. Language assistance exceeds the extended Latin things, to cover Cyrillic and Greek as well.

20% of the Lancelot Pro family's incomes will be contributed to the Canada Type Scholarship Fund, supporting higher typography education in Canada.
