LF Corpid III was designed by Lucas de Groot and released by LucasFonts. LF Corpid III consists of 30 styles and family bundle alternatives. p > The name Corpid stems from 'Business Identity' - which is what this household of low-contrast sans-serifs was produced. Corpid was initially commissioned by Studio Dumbar in the Netherlands as a business typeface for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Fishing. The typeface was created to change the existing standard typeface (a well-known business-like sans-serif) to offer the organization with a special and strong identity.

Although it was designed to fit rigorous technical requirements, Corpid has a personality all of its own. This remained in part a result of what Luc( as) calls 'creating tension' between the inner and outer curves of each character. 'I tend to put a little more diagonal contrast into font styles than holds true in many neutral sans serif typefaces. This brings a certain humanistic touch to the typeface. Far more subtle here than in Thesis - however although it is nearly invisible, it is still palpable.'

Corpid was slowly expanded into a five-weight, three-width family. The new Corpid SemiCondensed has double performance. It is a no-frills, compact heading font that uses maximum legibility in sizes from small to big. It is also a terrific space-saving text typeface for publications, newsletters or annual reports: financial, versatile, and supplied with numerous different numeral sets. In this OpenType type variation, all weights include Small Caps. With its wealth of numeral styles and total character sets (consisting of Main European) the Corpid household is now well equipped to take on the most complex of typographic jobs.
