Metropolitan Roman was created by Bruce Rogers in 1914 as "Centaur" based upon Jenson's classic roman font circa 1470. Metropolitan Italic Pro (Opentype) combines 2 of Frederic Wardes versions of Arrighi. The Metropolitan Italic font is based upon the final (Monotype) variation of Arrighi with sharp ascender serifs that encompass the left. Metropolitan Italic Alt is based upon the original Arrighi of 1925 and features pear shaped ascenders that reach the right.
New little cap variations included in mid 2006.
