Frederic Goudy initially designed Pabst in 1902. This lettering was utilized by the Pabst Brewing Business for their marketing products. It was later become type for ATF. Goudy later accredited Pabst Oldstyle to the Lanston Type Library.
Lanston Pabst Oldstyle features several distinctions from the more familiar ATF version. Some caps are narrower while some lower case characters are larger than the ATF version. The descenders are also much shorter in the Lanston version.
Logotypes of italic words "and" "of and "the" are included as originally created as well as ligatures consisting of the uncommon "tt" ligature.
