Luminari is an amalgam of High Middle Ages composing, a blend that combines the elaborate Church hands with the easy Carolingian from the ninth to the fifteenth centuries. Its majuscules are particularly affected by the versals found in the popular Monmouth psalters, along with those done by the Ramsey Abbey abbots in the twelfth century. The minuscules likewise exhibit some influence from the book hand of respected humanist Poggio Bracciolini from the early fifteenth century. Italian and basically romanesque in design, Luminari works out a slight stress between the round kinds and the angular "gothic" styling.

Luminari was updated with plenty of alternates and expanded language support in 2012. It now supports a really large range of codepages, consisting of Cyrillic, Greek, Central and Eastern European, Turkish, Baltic, Vietnamese, and obviously Celtic/Welsh.
