Macondo Pro was designed by John Vargas Beltrán and published by John Vargas Beltrán. Macondo Pro includes 6 designs and household package options. p > The very first function of this typeface was to supply an initial and systematized style of calligraphy adapted into a modern digital typeface. The kinds are inspired by some illustrations developed for a tarot card video game, itself inspired by the work of Colombian literature Nobel prize winning author, Gabriel García Márquez, 'Cien Años de Soledad'. Early versions of this font style were made in 1997, however recently in 2009 it was significantly improved. Macondo includes a number of cap swashes and other stylish alternates. Macondo, as original typographic proposal was picked at Tipos Latinos 2012 Biennial, now the total set of extended variety for this typeface is prepared and improved to be commercialized.

The new Macondo Pro can be offered with extended capabilities of OpenType, as old design numbers, Swash Caps, slashed absolutely no, some end-position lowercase, portions, very and sub numbers, some elegant lowercase and discretional and/or contextual ligatures.
