Medusa was created by Ramiro Espinoza and released by Re-Type. Medusa contains 2 designs and family plan options. p > Beautiful is Ramiro Espinoza's tribute to 19th Century Catalonian pointed pen calligraphy. The starting-off point in the development of the typeface was an analysis of the historic models of official English handwriting and the methods which those styles had actually been adjusted to the typographic innovations of different ages. A representative example of such adaptations includes the group of letters which, in connected scripts, sign up with from near the top of their x-height, namely "b", "o", "v" and "w".

Up to now, all typefaces derived from the roundhand have actually been simplified so that the above letters get in touch with the following glyphs from the middle of their x-height. Sadly, this service produces an artificial, awkward appearance. At ReType we chose to relocate the opposite instructions. We didn't force the shape of hard-to-format letters into the service of innovation, but rather fixed to press innovation into the service of appreciating the initial graceful quality of those letters.

In addition, various aspects doing not have in Stirling's book have been included. The remarkably ornate capitals were redrawn in order to strike a greater balance and boost the consistency of the set of letters as a whole. Several swashes and ligatures were also developed from scratch. Possibly the most unusual function of Medusa is its little caps, which have actually been carefully designed to produce an all-cap setting that is stylistically harmonious with the classic copperplate script,
