Developed by James Lyles, Michiana Pro is a script and contemporary calligraphy font released by BluHead Studio.

Michiana Pro is my brand-new, handmade connecting script! I've been hand lettering cards and envelopes to my other half and household in this type style for many years and decided it was time to make a font style based on it. I normally start with a single thin stroke for each letter, then construct up the weight of the heavy stroke, so there ends up being a great deal of captivating variations in regards to style and color. The overall surface is rough, yet friendly. Perfect for invitations, location cards, love notes, and with its big x-height, it sets well for text.

I matured running around the dunes and beaches along Lake Michigan in northwest Indiana, and I believe the coastline and dune lawn has inspired my aesthetic. Michiana Pro takes the name from a small location along the lake between the Indiana and Michigan state lines. There are a great deal of great, modest houses nestled in the duneland forests. Considering what it resembles back there, it resembles having a bowl of steaming hot home cooking. So I hope Michiana Pro feels that method to you too.
