The name means 'witness the mountains' in Spanish, suggesting the rustic, unrefined type design.

Miramonte is based upon Stanislav Marso's humanist sans serif released by Grafotechna in 1960.

This revival consists of a cursive design italic instead of a sloped roman. Miramonte Pro consists of a comprehensive character set for publishing Central and Eastern European languages. Its OpenType functions include proportional figures, and tabular figures.
