Modesto is a loose-knit family based upon a signpainters lettering design popular in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. It evolved from the lettering I utilized for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & & Baily Circus Logo Design. The Modesto household was not planned. It simply occurred, a few typefaces at a time over nearly twelve years.
