Monarcha is a type household with strong impact of the baroque style, for extended texts. Its roman versions are somewhat manipulated, in the sense of reading, and its italics have unusual calligraphic features. Moreover, the contrast in between thick and thin strokes is relatively smaller than in standard serif font styles. These qualities, paired with its rounded shapes, provide Monarcha a delicious fluidity and texture.
Monarcha innovates and brings an unique OpenType feature to transform Arabic to Roman numerals as much as 3999. It also has a number of other expert features - small caps, fractions, old design-, lining-, tabular numbers, clinical superior/inferior figures, stylistic sets and more than 40 different ligatures (standard + discretionary).
.The household consists of 8 designs, 4 weights - Reserve, Regular, SemiBold and Strong - plus their respective italic variations. The typefaces are available in OpenType PS format and have extended character set to support CE, Baltic, Turkish along with Western European languages.
.In 2010, Monarcha received a Certificate of Quality at fourth Tipos Latinos Biennial, the most essential type award in Latin America.
