Liberated from its serifs and with soft and round small letters the Monceau approaches decorative typography and thus perfectly lends itself to being enlarged: it's a font style that enjoys to be carefully looked at.
Its name, provided from the famous parc Monceau in Paris, evokes and reinvents in a contemporary visual way all of the Parisian elegant at the end of 18th and the beginning of the19th century (the time Didot was born), the Reign Of Terror and Empire, the architecture of this company quarter and notably the arabesques of the monumental gates still present in our times.
