Monsieur LaDoulaise ProDesigner: Alejandro Paul
Developed by Alejandro Paul, Monsieur LaDoulaise Pro is a script font style published by Sudtipos.

The Charles Bluemlein Script Collection is an intriguing suggestion of the heady days of hand lettering and calligraphy in the United States. From the early 1930s through World War II, there had to do with 200 expert hand letterers operating in New york city City alone. This occupation saw its demise with the introduction of picture lettering, and after digital typography, ended up being practically extinct. The odd way in which the Bluemlein scripts were put together and developed - by gathering different signatures and then building complete alphabets from them - is a fascinating calligraphic adventure. Because the set of constructed styles looked nothing like the initial signatures, fictitious names were appointed to the brand-new script typefaces. The typeface designs were then showcased in Higgins Ink catalogs.

Alejandro Paul and Sudtipos bring the Bluemlein scripts back to life in a set of broadened digital variations, reflecting the needs of today's designer. Extreme care has been taken to render the original scripts authentically, keeping the fictitious names originally appointed to them by Bluemlein.
