Inspired by a set of vintage alphabet video game tile pieces, Newark JNL has comparable characteristics to other piece serif Romans, but enough "eccentric" letter widths to break the guidelines and have it stand apart on its own merits.
The name stems from font work files in development, typically conserved as "brand-new work" till a fitting name is chosen. It appeared only best that this expression be reversed into a font name itself.
Newark JNL is offered in both routine and oblique versions.
