Newercastle is the new version of a popular Chank typeface formerly known as 'Newcastle'. A consistent fan preferred considering that its preliminary release in 2005, the distressed blackletter typeface is new and improved. This ominous script is now bulked up with brand new capital letters, a bit of punctuation, and smattering of brand-new crowns, griffins and other heraldic doodads.

Designer Kevin Hayes opted for an assortment of gritty old icons rather of more conventional punctuation, since he felt that's just the method this type of typeface might perform best for you, the font enthusiast.
