Designers: Erica Jung, Ricardo MarcinNova Horst keeps all the remarkable wilderness of the initial font style, while improved with sharp OpenType shows, plus a whole new set of alternates, a helpful set of accessories and loads of cool unforeseeable overlapping glyphs. Language support was also expanded.
Now there are 5 sets of letters, 2 sets of numerals and a robust set of discretionary ligatures. OpenType performances now consist of an extremely spirited Contextual Alternates feature and likewise Discretionary Ligatures and Stylistic Alternates.
Nova Horst is an energizing mix of eccentric characters, cool OpenType functions, loads of alternates and a precise kerning table. But be alerted: as the initial typeface, this one is rather addictive!
A fast roadmap:
- All features switched off: you can choose the various letterforms kept on upper- and lowercase sets. There are no overlapping letters.
- Contextual Alternates turned on: you get rotating characters from 4 sets of glyphs, with loads of overlapping letters, all handled by a thoroughly handcrafted kerning table. The result is a really cool random effect on glyphs distribution.
- Discretionary Ligatures turned on: now some extra glyphs go into the scene. There are more than 60 ligatures glyphs which substitute pairs of letters for some extra-coolness
- Stylistic Alternates switched on: access the counterless glyphs from the Stylistic Alternates set.
Use each function alone or mix them up for added boldness. Beautiful extravaganza guaranteed!
