Developed by Vladimir Yefimov, Octava is a serif and piece serif font style household. This typeface has four designs and was released by ParaType.

Octava is a contemporary variation of Modern Serif typefaces. It was commissioned by the Russian Bible Society and originally released under the name Scriptura Russica in 1996 in three designs—— Book, Italic, Vibrant and was utilized for the contemporary edition of Reviews in Russain. Recently it was extended by the letters Western alphabets and Strong Italic style was contributed to the household. Design of Octava was influenced by Lectura (1969) by Penis Dooijes and Stone Print (1991) by Sumner Stone. With it large x-height the typeface is both space saving and rather clear in little sizes. The name Octava implies that it was specially designed for the 8 point size setting. All styles include additional set of old design figures and Book design includes small caps. Created in ParaType in 2001 by Vladimir Yefimov. In 2012 the typeface was modified and rebuilt with minor additions and corrections.
