Ovink was designed by Sofie Beier and published by The Northern Block Ltd. Ovink consists of 18 designs and family package options. p > Ovink is a rounded type family developed for great distance legibility. Called after the legibility scientist Gerrit Willem Ovink, in its early stages underwent experimental legibilty investigations of range and time threshold techniques. The results of this greatly affect the design. The high consistency of the letters likewise makes the typeface appropriate for running text and the large span of weights inspires a broad usage for the setting of both display and text.

Ovink is likewise loosely motivated by Knud V. Engelhardt's work for the street signage, designed around the years 1926-27 for Gentofte in Denmark. Being rooted in the Danish typography tradition, Ovink has a durable plain want to it, yet compared to its predecessor the curves are tighter, and characters have a higher level of distinction. Information consist of 9 weights with matching italics.
