Its hand drawn title had most of the letters rendered in a rectangular shape [' square' in the indication trade] that included rounded corners and terminals made by the shape of the lettering pen nib.

A couple of letters were rounder in style than others, so those were ditched in favor of a more constant character shape throughout the typeface.

Pen Nib Square JNL is offered in both routine and oblique variations.
