After a careful examination of all characters, I chose to produce a typeface based upon the unique script capitals presented in the book. Matching lowercase italics were later chosen and created to finish the series. Because my intention was not to develop merely a digital variation of Bodoni's work, this typeface was developed with linked characters and capitals with extra calligraphic components.
The outcome was released in 2002 and published in our award-winning catalog/book IDEA/Trendsetting Typography vol.1. Later in 2005 we revived a great deal of ornaments and borders (credit goes to designer George Lygas).
All this work was left behind till recently when it was revisited to develop a complete 'Pro' family. Several brand-new uppercase and lowercase glyphs were developed in order to develop a distinct typeface, which is based on Bodoni however yet it stands out on its own. The new variation also looks after disputes in between neigbouring letters, something that was not consisted of in the very first version. Bodoni Script Pro is a 3-weight superfamily.
It supports 10 special opentype functions including 'contextual alternates' as well as assistance for both Latin and Greek. Each font features 725 glyphs including a great deal of alternates as well as 144 accessories. Additionally, when you purchase the entire bundle you get a benefit font which consists of 120 frame parts. These parts, when assembled, create some truly remarkable borders'. -Panos Vassiliou
