This typeface is meant to produce essentially cursive texts without removing the clarity or look-and-feel of the individual Arabic letters. Providing glyphs for the complete Extended Arabic Unicode Standards 6.1, including the most current Arabic Supplement and Extended-A Unicode obstructs, Nuyork Arabic integrates thorough support for Quranic texts and other Arabetic scripts, consisting of African sub-Saharan scripts. Cautious style factors to consider were provided to make sure that made up Arabetic text is aesthetically prominent and stands well beside Latin. To insure legibility in all sizes, vertical strokes are stressed when possible, while using multiple x-heights to provide a traditional Arabic feel.

The style of this font follows the basic guidelines of the Mutamathil type style established by the designer, a years earlier, to enrich and diversify user typographic options, and to resolve the Arabetic scripts obstacles of literacy, education, economics, and innovation. Based upon this style, it uses one glyph for each standard Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined by the most current Unicode Standards, and one additional last form glyph, for each freely-connecting letter in the traditional Arabic cursive text. Nuyork Arabic includes the required Lam-Alif ligatures in addition to all vowel diacritic ligatures. Soft-vowel diacritic marks (harakat) are selectively placed, with many of them appearing on comparable high and low levels to clearly distinguish them from the letters. Tatweel, or Kashidah, is a zero-width glyph. Arabetics Latte consists of both Arabic and Arabic-Indic characters. Offered in Open Type format, the Nuyork Arabic font household includes routine, light, vibrant, additional vibrant, and black.
