Pilar is a new geometric sans serif typeface that was developed particularly for screen usage. Pilar is a contemporary reimagining of European art nouveau typography. Originally, the typeface was developed by Yury Ostromentsky in 2012 for the "Bolshoi Gorod" publication. The new version is heavily revamped and consists of 3 alternative sets. Now each symbol has four various variations, each with their own design and character-- Regular Open, Wide Closed, Narrow and "Wild". This allows every word or expression to have a various appearance depending on the case. Alternate sets are positioned in the "Stylistic Sets" panel (OpenType > Stylistic Embed in Adobe programs). If the Contextual Alternates feature is enabled, every next letter in the typed word will be utilizing a various set (Default, Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, Default, etc). These features help designers create an extensive and rich typographic environment in their work and easily adjust it to their desired mood.
