Tim Donaldson, creator of Banshee and Coriander, brings us Postino - an eccentric screen type modeled approximately on the typewriter face, Courier. Strong yet playful, Postino is aptly named by the Italian word for postman or carrier. Skimming through a back issue of Visible Language (a journal about written language), Tim was shocked by the robust beauty of an emboldened Courier typeface. The book designer had actually used the face to make "saucy little headings and they looked exceptional." Tim chose the world required a typeface like this however one that "poked its tongue out" even a bit more, while still using its practical clothes. After doodling for a long time, Postino and its Italic buddy worked their method into being on Tim's computer system screen. Not-entirely-serious headlines, CD covers, children's books, and marketing copy are all outstanding uses for punchy Postino.
