The typeface was developed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1997 by Manvel Shmavonyan for Russian main school sample composing schoolbooks. The typeface is based on script typefaces provided in the book 'Rodnoy Mir' by. L.I.Tikunova. The first variation of the font included just letters of Russian alphabet and standard set of figures and indications. The 2nd version with extended set of alphabetic letterforms was developed in 2004 by Gennady Fridman. Current 3rd version that covers full Cyrillic and Western code pages was prepared by Gennady Fridman and released in 2009. Medium design likewise was added by him in 2009.
