With Puzzler, Zuzana Licko reviews and expands upon a few of her earlier forays into design and geometric building and constructions of abstract elements.
Says Licko: "I've always been intrigued by patterns; the abstract dot structures of blown-up halftone photographs, the disturbance patterns of superimposed grids called moire, and the shadows of tree leaves on the pathway. These were a few of the motivations for the Puzzler patterns."
.Some Puzzler elements started as dot grids of various sizes and frequencies, while others began as leaf or floral shapes that were organized into interlocking compositions. In fact, lots of happened as happy mishaps; some components looked too random or boring till their repeatings shocked her with suddenly fluid patterns.
.The components are set up into 3 classifications of font styles: Puzzler Halftone, Puzzler Geometric and Puzzler Floral. Each element is accessed through a letter on the keyboard, making it easy to duplicate aspects with exact scaling and positioning.
.These examples show a few of the patterns that can be made up with the Puzzler font styles; but the variety is endless.
