Recia is Carlos De Toro's launching typeface with ITF. Recia is a contemporary-style serif. The family can be found in 10 styles, and its 5 Italic font styles are 'true-italic' designs, which include a cursive-structure in the letters. Its x-height is quite high and the characters are somewhat condensed, with strokes that are rather low-contrast. In the lighter weights, barely any stroke contrast is noticeable between the thick and thin parts of the letters, however in the Vibrant weights, stroke contrast is clear, however the thinner strokes are still quite chunky. The serifs all take wedge-shapes. Each typeface consists of 516 glyphs, and the character set offers users numerous figure designs by means of OpenType functions. The default character variations are proportional oldstyle figures. Recia is optimised for use in running text, particularly in less-than-optimal printing environments were strong letterforms are needed.
