In 1988 the London-based Thunderjockeys, including Graham Elliott and John England, designed an album cover for the New York metal band Living Colour. The logo design they drew for this cover was either the motivation for a number of such curlicue typefaces appearing in those days, or was just a harbinger of these developments predestined to come out due to that period's interest in 60's and 70's styles. Prince's Graffiti Bridge, Dee-Lite's World Inner circle and practically all of the Remedy album covers are just a couple of examples displaying similar hand drawn type. Then, out of Stuttgart, Germany came "Remedy." Produced by Frank Heine, Treatment is without a doubt the most thoroughly developed design inspired by these influences.
