Both styles include 5 specific width sets ranging from the condensed W1 to the extra-wide W5.

Remora was designed by G-Type creator Nick Cooke. Both the Sans and Corp families share the exact same percentages, with the exception of specific crucial characters that alter the overall appearance.

Remora Sans is an abundant and characterful typeface while Remora Corp, as its name suggests, is a professional typeface more matched to corporate typography.

Quite early on in the design procedure Nick chose to give Remora Corp equivalent billing instead of incorporating these glyphs as alternates or a stylistic set that might get ignored.

" I created 2 different households after discovering an important lesson with one of my earlier typefaces, Houschka", states Nick. "Houschka included unique rounded A's W's and w's, with 'straight' styles as character alternates. Despite the fact that style sets and alternates are simple to activate they are rarely used, so after lots of ask for personalized variations of the fonts with the straight characters as defaults it was decided to create the different 'Alt' family. So I cut straight to the chase with the two Remora versions and created 2 complementary households."

Both sets consist of many shared letterforms, but it is the alternate characters that considerably alter the appearance of each font.

Remora has been thoroughly developed for optimal legibility at large and very little sizes. Although fairly monolinear in appearance, particularly in the lighter weights, specific attention has been paid to optical correction like the overshoots of the curved characters.

Open counters and painstaking attention to information (e.g. weight contrast in between horizontal and vertical strokes, junctions of shoulders and stems etc) all increase readability and make Remora a fantastic choice across all media.

Remora Sans and Corp are 'humanist' rather than 'geometric' in design, indicating they're not strictly based on rectangular shapes and circles, resulting in a warm and friendlier feel. The slightly 'super-elliptical' rounded forms develop kindly attractive curves.

Remora has really unique italics in that they are only inclined by 8 degrees, but are not just based upon inclined uprights. The italic styles are really alluring when utilized for display at large sizes and the bright side is they come bundled complimentary with their respective uprights.
