Because of the large increase of Irish immigrants during the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was not unusual for songwriters of the day to craft tunes around Irish themes, offering a nostalgic link to their homeland.
One such 1917 piece entitled "You Brought Ireland Right Over to Me" had the title hand lettered on the sheet music cover in a sans serif style showing the popular Art Nouveau motion of the day.
This style is now offered digitally as Retro Nouveau JNL, in both routine and oblique versions.
