Ruca was developed by Jörn Oelsner and released by URW Type Foundry. Ruca consists of 1 design. p > Because my very first contact with blackletters in 1999, I became a growing number of amazed by these artistic looking typefaces. Everything began in the U.S.A. at the age of 16, when I took an art class. I decided to trace some blackletter typefaces due to the fact that they looked extremely fascinating. From this point on I was intrigued by blackletter fonts from all over the world. I studied their various body structures and their cultural background in addition to the type designers behind it. Filled with info and motivation I began to draw my own blackletter typeface in 2006.

While studying in Hamburg I got in touch with the studio of URW++, where I got knowledgeable in type software application and development. Creating a type takes an eye for detail and perseverance however also great deals of time and so it took practically 4 years up until the job was ended up. Therefore Ruca was born.

Ruca is a fine-tuned and broadened typeface.
