The original letters were cut from actual potatoes, then scanned in and converted to vector describes. Lighter and more greatly inked versions were used for the three variants.

Using Opentype character-substitution technology, Salvation turns through 3 variations of each letter to create a naturally unequal printed effect.

Unlike hot metal type, the potatoes were cut the proper way around. This produced reversed prints, which were then turned back in Photoshop.

Originally produced for Hughes' Get Lettering activity book, the font style was then encompassed cover numbers, punctuation and complete European language assistance.
