Sanitation JNL is a strong Art Deco sans style motivated by some stylized hand lettering on a 1930s-era WPA (Functions Development Administration) poster and is offered in both regular and oblique versions.

The subject of the poster was ‘‘ Your house is not complete without a hygienic unit' and that was suggested by the State Department of Public Health. A ‘‘ hygienic system' is the formal name for what rural folks called an ‘‘ outhouse', and it's presumed the target group were house owners not hooked up to major sewage system lines such as in those rural areas.
