Saskya contains 1 design. p > While I was in Boston in 2014, I visited the Museum of Fine Arts and to my good luck there was an exhibit of etchings by Rembrandt, among my preferred artists. Regarding be anticipated, numerous were merely stunning, but one particularly captured my eye. It was an etching of a priest (Jan Cornelis Sylvius, Preacher) with a comprehensive quantity of writing in Latin. While I'm not certain that it was Rembrandt's own hand, the script was lovely and I was captivated by it since it needed to be composed on the engraving plate in reverse. I snapped a few pictures utilizing my phone and later discovered other editions on line. I was so taken by the script that it asked me to develop a contemporary typeface from it. The result is
Saskya, named after Rembrandt's spouse Saskia.
There were lots of ligatures and glyph versions in the print, of which I caught many of them and made them available through OpenType functions. The total alphabet was not present in the sample, however, I discovered some other source material to sensitively fill in those spaces, with a remaining last couple of that I created myself.
A really romantic hand, Saskya will work well for invitations of many sorts, and when you're trying to find that 'old thyme' scripty sensation in your graphics.
