Shàngó is CastleType's beautifully-rendered analysis of Teacher F.H.E. Schneidler's classy entitling typeface launched in 1936 with the name ‘‘ Schneidler-Mediaeval mit Initialen'. This latter design is usually described as Schneidler Initials.
Although Medium and Strong weights were added early on to the somewhat fragile design of Shàngó, it seemed there were other possibilities that may be helpful for display screen use. So, a heavier, monoline variation of Shàngó was developed. This brand-new design keeps the traditional letterforms of the original, however its reasonably even strokes provides it a more strong appearance, making it helpful where a more modern-day, masculine appearance is needed.
This brand-new household is called Shàngó Gothic and is offered in 4 weights: Regular, Medium, Vibrant, and Additional Bold.
Shàngó Gothic belongs to the extended Shàngó household (Traditional, Chiseled, Sans, Gothic).
