The design was inspired by Caslon's Italian type work from the early 1800s and a basic love for western and heavy piece serif fonts.

Slab Constable is an all-caps font style, but there are display choices quickly accessed in any program utilizing the lowercase glyphs. There are 2 ampersands too; one of which can be accessed in the Stylistic Alternate OpenType Feature.
