ClarkeSpan is a modern-day glyphic type family that flaunts its engraved heritage with sweeping serifs and sculptural types. Bridging the modern and traditional, Period appears exuberant yet dignified. Designed mostly for luxurious headlines and titles, Period's strong vertical tension is softened by classy natural curves while its compact height emphasizes the deep serifs.
The household uses 5 weights, each with three widths and italics. The condensed designs supply an important advantage when designing within narrow areas. Span's italics strike a balance in between true italics and oblique letterforms to produce a modification in rhythm while maintaining its chiselled style.
A variety of extra features enhance Span's typographic capabilities consisting of restrained swashes and flourishes are offered in both roman and italic styles. Span also presents an additional set of capitals for extraordinary typographic control over uppercase settings. 'Mid Caps' sit midway in between full-height capitals and lowercase letters and extend Span's title setting choices to All Capitals, Capitals with Mid Caps and Capitals with Small Caps.
